66 yrs old and offered a redundancy from my job as a professor in a university! Just saw your comment below about software... we use Windows Movie Maker and a Sanyo Xacti Camera (which I got cheap) which uses MP4 (Mpeg). The finished film is a WMV file. You can purchase more sophisticated software (quite cheaply) but unless you intend to go professional I reckon Windows Movie Maker is good enough.
