California is broke. Seriously broke. So broke that it’s issuing IOU’s to its residents instead of tax refunds. Apparently we’re 42 billion in the hole. Now I’ve never really looked into how state or federal budgets really work, and I really have no idea if it’s even possible to recover enough money to fix a problem that large. It all looks pretty hopelessly fucked up me. At the very least we have to seriously rethink how we’re getting by both as a state and as a nation. I very rarely go to parties. Most of the time I think of going to parties as some sort of a chore that I have to do for the person that I like that’s throwing the party, or the person that wants me to come with them. It’s just so hard for me to find interesting people to talk to, and I’m terrible about forcing a fake conversation. I just can’t do it anymore. Are you gay? For the record, I’m not. If I was, I’m not sure that I would admit it, but I like to think I would. Who knows? The point is, I’m not, but I get accused of being gay all the time. Most of it is either just jealousy from weak-minded guys, or wishful thinking from gay dudes, but it does come up. The funniest example so far is this email I got the other day. I like to smoke pot and work out. To the ill informed or the uninitiated in the magical ways of the sacred plant, this can seem like a very contradictory practice. In fact though, that notion could not be further from the truth. Getting high and working out is one of the least talked about and least appreciated pleasures of fitness.
