I put it up on something, anything as long as it stands at about a foot long and has a flat top. I kinda balance the camera on top so the lens is off to the side of it, pointing down, then I put the picture right in the middle of where its pointing, so I never actually have to touch the camera. When the video is done a lot of the shot is taken up by the thing the camera was up on, so I crop it out in post with a free video editor called vsdc, I you're going to use that know that it takes some tinkering with to figure out, If there's something you don't understand about it, Google it, that's how I figured it out. And yeah that's about it
