Does anyone else agree with me on this? I believe the worst "sin" of adult filmmakers, also too often emulated by amateurs, is the extended genital closeup--especially during any form of intercourse. Who wants to see lengthy shots of pistoning crotches, especially when they include predominantly a set of hairy male buttocks or a scrotum and testicles? Even if one is a homosexual, such a routine would grow tedious over a long series of minutes. Yet, the majority of videos, as I said, seem to rely on them. The worst thing may be the photographers' assumption that this is what the audience desires. For me, I prefer an equal amount of time devoted to the female partner's face, not just because that is the body part that most turns me on, but because closeups of her emotional reactions interspersed with shorter glimpses of genital grinding adds needed variety. And variety, of course, is the spice of life....

Different angles are essential including genitals but if shown at a middle distance it is more erotic as if being seen by a voyeur .Extreme gynecological closeups grow old quickly but to see lust and ecstasy in faces is great and moaning/dirty talk (within reason)is also a turn on a well shot silent scene can be disappointing

think the Japanese porn that is censored would be great if not censored. Because censored they have good plots, angles, show face full body hummer, bondage, etc.

I like to see both. Shots of female faces in orgasmic extremis are always lovely.

I agree with you - the emotions during sex you see in the face of man and woman - that's why I would also like to look at the facial expression of a man and girl and not primary just the sex organs!

I agree to a certain extent. If the couple has a photographer then I would expect a wide range of shots.

But I prefer amatuer porn to commercial porn and often these couples are reunning the camera and trying to fuck at the same time. So I have gotten used to seeing the same shot over and over.

I have seen many videos where they film and use both close-up, mid-range and whole body recordings and mix them up just to make an 8 minute seen seem like it lasted 20 minutes. the soundtrack is the same, and is what really clues you in. i have also seen a few in which they replay the money shot from 2 angles and through in a slow-mo replay, seeminly just to extend the length of the scene.

well if you just showed the faces all the time it would be softcore, we need to see some of the in & out and some of the less sexy angles to remind us of the important thing - its real fucking

I don't know...I think I have to agree. Although being a fan of erotica I like close ups on the females and see what I like to call 'a nice looking pussy with stockings' etc etc which is very pleasing to my eyes. I DON'T want to see 'man ass' and generally more professional companies like Vivid video shoot them well enough to please me. If I get to much man time I just go elsewhere...but close ups can and are still a nice addition...BUT you are right...the length of watching is starting to go to long...though I think in some instances they are being photographed for pics..you can hear someone taking pictures..and maybe they just need the extra footage? That's why the blowjob last forever too.

Agreed, and it really underscores the lack of imagination in contemporary adult films. Even more glaring, perhaps, and it sounds cliche as hell, is the lack of erotic storytelling. For me, the most exciting aspect of the visual in adult films is how two people, or even better a group of people, fall into the circumstances of uninhibited sex.

Other than that singular issue, I've turned almost entirely to amateur because the industry has become so tired. And, I'm so very glad to see the new interest in natural tits, emphatically so. Just like the fake breasts of virtually every starlett of the 90s began to turn me off, so to have the tattoos, pieces of metal jabbed into one's tongue/navel, and the odd fascination of drinking semen from a cup... 'course, that's just my very personal opinion.

Anywho, I'm glad to see you're on the B-side of the feminist coin about pornography, like me. The issue is one of the more interesting academic arguments, I think -- that is, those who despise it as it objectifies women versus those who argue that the empowerment of choice and freedom is exactly what feminism promotes. I've found that where one's opinion on the matter lies depends on their level of feminism.

Oh, and also glad that I read your profile because I woulda swore that Pennebaker/Maysles Brothers made Woodstock.
