Actually it doesn't work that way. You'd still need consent from the owner first then you can copyright and publish your edited version.

What you're talking about only works if you label your stuff with a "for educational and creative purposes only" note but even then you could get in trouble if you don't remove it upon request. And there will be requests sspecially if you're profiting from it.

Actually you can change something as minor as making a beg. or ending title and then copyright it. Especially if it's not already.
