Krell is almost 100% correct. However, though I like his films, Jules Jordan should recieve "ZERO" credit for being revolutionary or innovative as far as shooting. Today's "directors"- and I mean that very loosely, shoot with a very well established formula of blocking a scene- starting with Bruce 7 - then to Stagliano- then to Max Hardcore - then to every "gonzo" filmaker since 2002. I believe the reason a lot of the older clips had too much of the male star in the shot was for two reasons: A)In the late 80's/early 90's the industry was trying to get more couples oriented- hence showing an equal balance of male and female in the scene(lame!) 2)Most of these guys could not keep "wood" for the entire scene- so they'd use "fake" dry hump angles to stretch out the scene. The easiest way to do that is to show the proverbial close-up of "Leatherface" grimmacing.
