I was expecting a sex film and got this. I did like it though. It took a few minutes until I realized the lady was Vivina Merchant. I'd seen in many British productions but the one I remembered seeing her in was "Frenzy". She was the wife of the Scotland Yard inspector looking for a serial killer. She was taking a gourmet cooking course and her poor husband had to sample her work. It was amusing. She is very attractive. Too bad this wasn't X-rated. Would have loved to see her really "cook".
This was "The Lover", a 1963 TV play by Harold Pinter starring Vivien Merchant (Pinter's wife) about a couples sterile marriage being brought to life, hopefully, by play-acting as 'lovers'!
Sadly, Vivien Merchant succumbed to the 'demon drink' and died of acute alcoholism in 1982, aged 53! Gorgeous woman of the time!!
Interesting concept, pity about the sound problem. The lady seems familier, did she later star in the excellent "Granny Solo" series? Might be time for a modern re-make, showing more of her with her lover, Michelle from Michelle's Nylons would be perfect for the lead role.
