Following adverse public and press reaction, Tilly Bailey & Irvine abandoned the practise and accepted a £2,800 fine from the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Without the aid of solicitors, Golden Eye (International) Limited continued the practise of speculatively invoicing those they claim had "infringed their copyrights".
