Katie McMasters was the 3rd runner up in the Kansas Miss Teen America beauty pageant in 1989. But for the sake of the business, she kept quiet.
By 2006, Katie and her husband were finalizing plans to leave the business and pursue other interests when tragedy struck. Brad and Darryl were coming back from the airport and their car was hit head on by a semitruck. Darryl was killed instantly and Brad became paralyzed from the neck down.
